Continuing Education In collaboration with The Institute of Medical Hypnoanalysis, for the advancement and transmission of the Bryan Method of Medical Hypnosis and Medical Hypnoanalysis, Medical Hypnosis Center for Wellness offers beginning, intermediate and advanced courses in Medical Hypnosis and Hypnoanalysis. Courses foster an understanding and use of hypnosis in clinical practice as well as familiarity with a well systematized, short-term, directed, psycho-dynamic form of psychotherapy. Our courses are approved by the Ohio Psychological Association for the biennium 2016-2018 and the Ohio State Board of Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists since 2011. These presentations are designed to meet the needs and interests of: 1. Health Care Professionals, particularly those engaged in Behavioral Health Provision: MD’s, DO’s, Psychologists, Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, M.Divinity, Nurses, Educators, etc. , who want to explore and expand their ability to use suggestive therapy and hypnotic techniques in their practices. 2. Individuals who would like to use these skills and ideas for the enrichment of their personal or professional lives. Through two 14 hour presentations participants are introduced to and explore causally-oriented hypnoanalytic clinical procedures: Accessing highly charged emotional incidents that have to do with the problem (age regression) Methods of restructuring maladaptive thoughts, feelings, beliefs (reframing); Systematic desensitization of maladaptive patterns with reinforcement of more positive, growth promoting concepts (personal tape). 101: Hypnosis for Health Care Professionals 7.5 CEU’s for basic introductory course to hypnosis 202: Hypnoanalytic Treatment of Psychiatric Disorders: Theory and Diagnostic Tools 14 CEU’s for two day overview of medical hypnoanalytic theory and diagnostics. Theory section includes historical antecedents, theory of pathology formation and hierarchy of survival. Diagnostic section includes system specific initial consultation, word association, dream analysis of this short –term, goal –oriented, directed, psychodynamic form of psychotherapy. 303: Hypnoanalytic Treatment of Psychiatric Disorders: Processes and Procedures 14 CEUs for two day overview of medical hypnoanalytic processes and procedures. Topics include: Age Regression — Advantages, methods, focus on recent or remote events, process and content, trauma resolution, the “difficult” age regression and therapeutic goals Case Management — Challenging Cases: Anxious, resistant, defensive, non-compliant client. Personal Analytic Tape — Structure, key components, rationale Specialized Regressions — IEE/ birth regression as initial sensitizing event and possible manifestations of psychopathology with methods of intervention.
