Hypnoanalysis

Hypnoanalysis is a search of the subconscious mind through the use of hypnosis. This helps to identify the origin of the problem and redirect the emotional energy that sustains the problem toward a solution. Hypnosis opens the door to the subconscious; analysis helps you to understand and neutralize the cause of the problem, hence the term, hypnoanalysis.

Have you ever found yourself doing what you don’t want to do, feeling as you don’t want to feel, being as you don’t want to be? Consciously you have no idea of what is causing these unwanted thoughts, feelings or behaviors, in short, the symptoms, but your subconscious mind knows. It knows how it happened, when it happened, where it happened and even why it happened. At one time, the amygdale, deep in the brain, recorded thoughts, feelings and beliefs, usually associated with a highly charged emotional event(s), for your protection. The problem occurs when the event or events are long past, but the program remains activated by cues in the environment and continues to run, bringing about unwanted symptoms. The conscious mind: thinking, reasoning, judgment, decision-making could change it but cannot reach it, since only 20 % of the subconscious is accessible in the normal waking state. The subconscious can only react, leaving you to wonder why.

To assist you in solving this problem, we recommend Medical Hypnosis, clinical hypnosis and hypnoanalysis (analysis in the state of hypnosis) as the most effective procedures to aid you in achieving your desired outcome. Medical Hypnosis, is a therapeutic approach to assist you in determining what has contributed to the cause of your particular problem. Then, with better understanding of this, aid you in setting aside thoughts, feelings, emotions, or memories that contribute to your discomfort. I find that Medical Hypnosis offers the distinct benefit to be thorough, efficient, effective and time saving (thus money-saving) in our work together.

The use of hypnosis enables a more thorough, accurate, and complete psychotherapy procedure (hence save time and money) because of the high degree of concentration of the mind. One is better able to recall significant events with accuracy, and to see one's self or situations with greater objectivity. The reason for this is that the area of the brain which is the primary center for relational thought, creativity, common sense, visualization, memory and the like is tapped in the hypnotic state.

In other words, hypnosis enables one to focus on the problem and best use one's own subconscious resources to understand and solve that problem. This is the reason that hypnosis makes it easier to restructure thought regarding bad habits, over-indulgence, the self-image, and habit patterns, etc. The most advanced and highly specialized use of hypnosis in psychotherapy is "Medical Hypnoanalysis."

The Process

The entire procedure of treatment may be divided into two major Phases: The Analytic Phase & the Rehabilitation Phase.

1. The Analytic Phase

The process involved in this stage of treatment is first, "relaxation", in which you learn to be hypnotized. This is usually learned in one session. Hypnosis will be repeated in practically every session, and you will become more adept at it as time goes by.

Next is "realization" in which you begin to understand what happened in the past to bring on the problematic condition or situation. This is done first by means of a word association exercise, in which you respond to words and partially finished sentences. Then a dream is analyzed. Following this an investigation is made into past events or relationships, which were turning points, or were crucial in contributing to the development of the problem. Understanding this cause and effect relationship between past events and the present situation, when handled properly, brings relief and greatly contributes to the ultimate solution.

Third, "re-education" must take place. Knowing and understanding oneself is vital. But, in addition, understanding human behavior, emotional growth, overcoming weaknesses, personal improvement, and working toward one's own specific goal, requires education and guidance. To assist in doing this, our therapeutic suggestions have been researched, carefully composed, edited and recorded so that needed information can be taught in the most effective manner.

The Analytic Phase can take anywhere from 5 to 15 sessions, depending on the problem that is being treated. The quicker this is done, the better. In fact, in many cases it is desirable to complete the Analytical Phase within days. Certainly it should proceed no slower than an average of one session per week.

2. The Rehabilitation Phase

The underlying cause of the problem must be removed before proceeding with this phase. Then removal of the harmful habit pattern begins. This "rehabilitation" or readjustment period also involves construction of new helpful patterns of behavior and relationships.

The final stage is "reinforcement". During this period the newfound feelings and behaviors need to become rooted in the person to such an extent that they "stick." When this is determined to have taken place the person gradually tapers off in coming for therapy sessions.

The therapy is not complete until the final check up when the benefits you have received are further reinforced, and even improved. Overall there may be from 5 to 15 sessions during the Rehabilitation Phase, depending on your efforts and the conditions under which you live or work. The average pace of these sessions is about once a week.
